Abbottstown, PA (July 20, 2024) – After waiting over 1,000 days for his second career 410 win, Aaron Bollinger only had to wait 7 days to score his third career victory in the division. Bollinger found himself back in victory lane on Dean’s Auto Plaza Night, once again driving up from his seventh starting spot to the win.
Australian driver, Jessie Attard, shared the front row with veteran racer, Jeff Rohrbaugh for the start of the 33-lap feature. Saturday night’s feature was 33 laps in memory of Riley Emig who passed away in a motorcycle accident last Saturday. Emig was the track’s 358 Rookie of the Year in 2021 and the 410 Rookie of the Year in 2022.
Brandon Rahmer got by Rohrbaugh on the start to move up to second and Chad Trout got up to third. Attard held the lead as Trout got by Rahmer for second. Brandon stayed with Trout and regained the spot in turn 2. Trout was back in second when he got high coming out of turn 4 and made contact with another car which launched him flipping down the front stretch, bringing out the red on lap 4.
Attard led Brandon, Freddie Rahmer, Troy Wagaman and Aaron Bollinger on the restart. Brandon looked to the bottom but did not make the pass for the lead. The Rahmer brothers got tangled in turn 2 just long enough to open the door for Wagaman to move into second. Freddie ended up in third and Bollinger got by Brandon for fourth. Attard was pulling away from the field as Wagaman and Freddie battled hard for second.
The caution came out on lap 11 for Jordan Strickler. The top five for the restart were Attard, Wagaman, Freddie, Bollinger, and Brandon. Wagaman went to the bottom but could not pull the slider on Attard. Jessie started pulling away again and Bollinger went to work on the bottom to gain on Freddie.
Lapped traffic came into play for Attard with 10 laps to go. Bollinger slid Wagaman for second after Troy had a back exit off turn 2. Bollinger challenged Attard for the lead down the backstretch and had it at the line with seven laps to go. Freddie got by Wagaman for third as Attard started to fade.
Bollinger beat Freddie to the checkered flag by 1.967 seconds. Current point leader, Wagaman finished third and Brandon was fourth. After being involved in an early race incident, Matt Campbell charged back up through the field to finish fifth.
Mike Bittinger Scores 358 Sprint Victory
Pole-sitter, Justin Foster, led the field into turn 1 with Tylar Rutherford holding off Mike Bittinger. The red came out before a lap was completed when Samuel Miller flipped in turn 3. Jake Galloway was also involved.
The field lined up for a complete restart. Foster took the lead once again as Rutherford and Bittinger battled for second with Bittinger taking the spot. Rutherford got a good run off turn 2 and briefly had the runner-up spot reclaimed, but Bittinger beat him back to the line.
Foster was getting an excellent run off turn 2 but Bittinger was making up ground on the opposite end of the track.
The red again appeared on lap 5 when Tom Senseney flipped in turn 4. Eli Tuckey was also involved.
Foster led Bittinger, Rutherford, Tyler Ulrich, and Doug Hammaker on the restart. The yellow came out on lap 6 when Frankie Herr did a 360 spin. Foster held onto the lead and Ulrich moved up to third. Hammaker got by Ulrich on the next lap and Owings followed, sending Ulrich back to fifth.
The yellow came out on lap 13 for Jake Galloway, Frankie Herr, and Travis Leh.
Hammaker moved into second on the restart and was all over Foster for the lead. As Hammaker went for the lead going into turn 1 he made contact with Foster and flipped, bringing out the red. Bittinger inherited the lead with five laps to go. Owings dove into turn 3 to challenge for the lead but Bittinger held him off. Rutherford held on to third with Wolf and Ulrich battling for fourth as the white flag waved.
Bittinger scored his first win in the division at Lincoln since 2014 by .648 seconds over Owings. Rutherford crossed the line third and Wolf, the hard charger, finished fourth from his 11th starting spot. Ulrich completed the top five.
