Brent Marks Dominates Greg Hodnett Classic Make-Up to Kickoff Weikert Memorial Weekend; Wilbur Class of the Field in Hess Iron 30

Port Royal, PA -- Brent Marks in the first night of the 2025 Bob Weikert Memorial was able to find Kish Bank victory lane at Port Royal Speedway and was able to repeat that same feat on Saturday which also served as the Greg Hodnett Classic make-up from PA Speedweek.

The 25-lap A-main event saw Brent Marks start alongside Anthony Macri on the front row against a stout field of PA Posse and High Limit Racing competitors with Marks jumping out to the early advantage.

Over the opening 15 laps, the only challenge for the driver from Myerstown Pennsylvania would be the lapped traffic eating up the real estate in front of him as he would be out to a comfortable advantage over Macri.

With 10 laps to go however, Macri would close the gap and peak to the inside of Marks for the race lead with Justin Peck looming not far behind in 3rd.

Macri would look to the inside of Marks repeated over the next 3 laps but would be unable to make the pass before a caution would come out for a spinning car with 7 laps remaining.

The restart would see Marks open his advantage back up in bit now back in clean air with Justin Peck taking advantage over the gained track position to keep Anthony Macri in his sights for a battle for the runner up spot.

Peck would use the middle side of turns 1 and 2 to build momentum and chase down Macri on the back straightaway making the pass for 2nd and setting his sights on Marks.

A caution would once again reset the field with 2 laps to go for a spinning Lucas Wolfe and that would allow Peck a chance to take a shot for the lead.

However the 19 car of Brent Marks would be too good on the final restart of the race, opening up to a comfortable advantage for the final 2 laps, and picking up his 2nd Greg Hodnett Classic title to go alongside his win from back in 2022.

Peck would finish in the runner up spot and Anthony Macri would finish in 3rd.

Logan Wagner would earn Ramsey's Car Wash Hard Charger honors for going +16 on the night.

Chase Randall would get the J&S Classics Warrior Award worth $1,000.

In wingless sportsman competition for the Hess Iron 30, Steve Wilbur would be the class of the field leading by as many as 6.5 seconds over the rest of the field to pick up the win.

Brett Perigo, who made the race exciting cutting Wilbur's lead down from 6.5 seconds to just 0.2 seconds, would have to settle for a runner up finish after starting in 10th.

Tony Jackson would round out the podium on the night.

Port Royal Speedway and Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing will be right back in action on Sunday for the Bob Weikert Memorial Finale presented by Greencastle Livingstock Market paying $100,000 to the winner.
