Hartlaub Earns 1st Career Port Royal Speedway Victory, Erdley Dominates in 305s, Snook Takes Advantage Late for Limited Late Model Win

Port Royal, PA -- Just a little over 2 weeks ago, Kody Hartlaub was announced as the driver of the BK Motorsports 77 once the seat came available. On Saturday night, in just his 3rd appearance behind the wheel, Hartlaub parked in Kish Bank victory lane in Weikert's Livestock 410 sprint car competition.

Hartlaub would start alongside Matt Campbell for the 25-lap feature event with Hartlaub jumping out to the early advantage.

Campbell would find himself in a battle early in the opening 3 laps as rookie Owen Dimm would challenge him for the runner-up position with Dimm taking the position away just 3 laps completed.

As the laps clicked away, Nash Ely would start to find life as he would get by Campbell for the final podium position with 14 laps remaining and would set his sights on the other top 2 cars.

Dimm, who is behind the wheel of a 410 sprint car for just his 3rd time coming into the night, would reel in Hartlaub for the race lead with 10 laps remaining as the two cars picked their way through lapped traffic.

All the while, Ely had reeled them both in and brought 11th place starter Lance Dewease along with him to all contend for the top spot.

Dimm, Dewease, and Ely would all go to battle for the runner up spot which would be to the benefit of Hartlaub as he would begin to stretch his gap over the other leaders in the field.

Dewease would get by both Ely and Dimm for the 2nd spot with just 5 laps remaining to see if he could put his charging #8 machine in the top position by the end of the night.

Hartlaub, however, had built enough of a gap to seperate himself from the 2nd winningest driver in 410 sprint car history at Port Royal Speedway to take the checkered flag himself and pick up his 1st Port Royal victory in a 410 sprint car in his career.

Dewease would finish in the 2nd spot and Nash Ely would round out the top 3.

Justin Whittall would claim Ramsey's Car Wash Hard Charger honors for going +11 from his 18th starting spot.

Jake Karklin would claim an extra $1,000 courtesy of J&S Classics as a part of the Warrior Award program for having the #10 pill drawn in victory lane.

In Penns Valley Meat Market 305 sprint car competition, Tyler Erdley would show his class by dominating the 20 lap A-main event from wire to wire.

Erdley would take the lead on the opening lap and stretch his advantage by as much as 4.3 seconds during the main event.

Even through lapped traffic, Erdley's lead would only be diminished to as litte as 2.2 seconds before he would stretch it back out to over 3.1 by the final checkered flag.

The victory would mark Erdley's 2nd official win in 2026 as well as in his career at Port Royal Speedway.

In River Rock Campground and RV Park limited late model competition, Lane Snook has been the driver to beat in defense of his 2025 track championship. He proved that again on Saturday night but used a pass with just 6 laps remaining to claim his 3rd victory of the season at The Speed Palace.

Andrew Yoder would get out in front early in the 20 lap A-main event would look hard to catch even for the young phenom as Yoder would run the top side of the race track with significant speed.

After a handful of caution flags Snook, who started in the 5th position, would be restarting in 2nd behind Yoder with 9 laps remaining.

Snook would follow Yoder closely for 3 laps before looking to make his move in turns 1 and 2 where he would make a sliding pass around him for the race lead.

Yoder would look to return the favor in turns 3 and 4, but Snook was ready for the move and would drive back around him for the top spot.

For the final 5 laps, Snook would open up his race lead and go on for his 3rd victory of the season.

Yoder would finish in 2nd and DJ Myers would finish in 3rd.

Port Royal Speedway will be off next Saturday and will be back in action on Saturday August 22nd for the Living Legends Dream Race presented by J&S Classics.
