Jeff Halligan rebounded from an accident last weekend to pick up the $5000 Weikert’s Livestock 410 Sprint Car feature win over Lucas Wolfe, Dylan Cisney, Mike Wagner, and Ryan Smith.
Mike Walter II and Austin Bishop started on the front row for the 25-lap A-main and it was Walter leading the opening circuit over Wolfe, Bishop, Halligan, and TJ Stutts.
Wolfe moved to the front of the pack on the following lap, while Halligan took over the second position one lap later. Cisney, who started seventh, cracked the top five on lap four and one lap later he moved into fourth.
It only took until lap six for Halligan to overtake Wolfe for the top spot as he used a move in turn’s three and four to make the move. Within four laps he opened an advantage of 2.13 seconds and was heavy on the tail end of the field.
Cisney cracked the podium on lap 10, while ninth-place starter and last weekend’s winner Devon Borden moved into fifth three laps later. Cisney, Walter and Borden jockeyed for positions for positions three through five over the next handful of laps.
Meanwhile it was smooth sailing up front for Halligan, as he opened a 5.345 second advantage by lap 19. Though it was wiped out completely when Justin Whittall brought out the caution in turn three to set up a 6-lap dash for the win.
Halligan took away the bottom on the restart, so Wolfe tried a move through the middle in turns one and two.
However, Halligan was just too good as he raced to the checkered flag by a margin of 3.905 seconds for the win.
Walter, Borden, Blane Heimbach, Bishop, and Gerard McIntyre Jr completed the top ten. McIntyre earned the $500 Valley Supply Hard Charger Award after starting 19th, while 16th-place finisher Kody Lehman scored the random draw J & S Classics $1000 Warrior Award.
